White Screen

Open a white field to inspect marks, pixels and broad color differences, or use a comfortable display as a soft light. Switch between six colors and three digital intensity settings.

Ready.

Uses: cleaning, dead pixels, uniformity and light

A white screen provides a plain reference for inspecting a display without a photograph hiding small marks. Press “Open full white screen” to begin. The initial field is RGB 255, 255, 255. It is an ordinary browser image, not a calibrated light source, HDR signal or measurement of the panel's maximum brightness.

The fullscreen controls offer white, black, red, green, blue and gray. Click a color button to choose it, or click the field and use the arrow keys to move through the sequence. Escape or Exit closes fullscreen. The page uses an expanded browser view when native fullscreen is unavailable; a phone's browser bars may therefore remain visible.

The Brightness setting offers 100%, 75% and 50% digital intensity. It scales the selected RGB values rather than moving your monitor's brightness control. At 75%, white becomes approximately RGB 191; at 50%, it becomes RGB 128. Physical light output does not necessarily change by the same percentage, so compare settings as reference fields, not measured luminance.

Find dust and smudges

White can make dark dust particles and fingerprints stand out. Look at the surface from more than one angle: a reflection or smear may change appearance as you move. Inspect first, then turn the device off and follow its cleaning instructions. A bright page is useful for finding a mark, but it is not a reason to spray liquid onto a powered screen.

Check dead pixels and color-dependent marks

A dark dot on white might be a dead pixel, surface dirt or an image artifact. Compare the same physical spot on red, green and blue. A stuck subpixel may appear differently on different backgrounds. Open the Dead Pixel Test for additional patterns and interpretation rather than assuming every speck is a panel defect.

Compare screen uniformity

Look from your normal centered position for broad tint changes, darker corners or bands. Try the gray field and lower digital intensity settings too. Keep room light and hardware brightness fixed while comparing. Some variation can be easier to see on a test field than in ordinary work; describe its practical impact instead of treating a browser image as a pass/fail standard.

The Screen Uniformity Test supplies more gray levels and a location grid. A recognizable taskbar or logo deserves a separate burn-in inspection. Neither page can measure panel wear or establish whether a temporary mark is permanent.

Use the display as a soft light

You can place a white display near a video call or a small object as a convenient broad light source. Start with comfortable hardware brightness, keep the device stable and adjust distance and angle. Do not stare into a bright field in a dark room. Heat limits, automatic dimming and your device's sleep settings can change the light during use.

For a video call, keep the camera and screen arranged so the light reaches your face without reflecting strongly in glasses. This is not color-calibrated studio lighting: the panel's white point and camera processing affect the result. The page does not promise to keep the screen awake or maintain a fixed light output.

How to clean your screen safely

Consult the manufacturer's instructions, especially for coated, nano-texture or touchscreen surfaces. Shut down and disconnect equipment as directed. Use a clean, soft, lint-free cloth with light pressure. Remove loose dust gently before rubbing a stubborn mark, and do not press harder in an attempt to fix a pixel.

Never spray liquid directly onto the panel. If the model's instructions allow a damp cloth, apply only the permitted liquid to the cloth and keep moisture away from edges and openings. Avoid household cleaners or abrasive materials unless the manufacturer explicitly approves them. Let the surface dry before reconnecting and inspecting again.

Reopen white and black fields after cleaning to see whether the mark changed. If a dot stays in exactly the same screen location across applications and colors, record it for further checking. Do not use pressure, heat or a flashing “repair” page as a substitute for support advice. This tool displays steady colors and makes no repair claim.

FAQ

Does the brightness control change my monitor settings?

No. It changes the digital RGB intensity of the displayed field. Adjust physical display brightness in the device settings; percentages here are not measurements of emitted light.

Can I use a white screen to find dead pixels?

Yes, it can help reveal dark dots. Confirm with several colors and rule out dirt or content artifacts. The test cannot guarantee detection or measure the severity of a defect.

Is it safe to clean the screen while this page is open?

Use the page to inspect first. Then power down and follow the display maker's cleaning instructions. A visible white field does not replace safe cleaning procedures.

Can I use this as a video call light?

It can provide a broad light source at a comfortable setting. Output and color depend on the screen, and sleep or automatic dimming may interrupt it. It is not calibrated lighting.

Can white patterns remove burn-in?

No repair is promised. A browser cannot restore permanently worn OLED material. Use short inspections and follow the manufacturer's guidance for retention, compensation and panel care.
